The Athenian owl is featured on the reverse of all 2022 Niue Athena Owl Stackable 1 oz Silver Coins. This design is inspired by the Ancient Greek Tetradrachm and bears an owl on a branch. Behind the owl, there is an olive sprig with a crescent moon above the owls head. An inscription on the bottom provides essential information about the metal content, reading, “1 TROY OUNCE .999 FINE SILVER.”

Queen Elizabeth II is depicted on the obverse of the 2022 Niue Athena Owl Stackable 1 oz Silver Coins. In this effigy, Her Majesty is found in right-profile relief wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland Tiara.
